In the first part of the mini-guide, I mentioned the importance of choosing the right travel guide between a general Hawaii guidebook and a specific Maui travel guide.

I also talked about maps and how it is crucial that they are durable, accurate and relevant to your 'travelers' needs.

There is so much to see and discover in Maui Hawaii when you get off the beaten path.

When comes the time to choose the best Maui guidebook, make sure it provides those invaluable off the beaten path suggestions.

There's nothing like getting advice from a 'been there, done that' perspective. The kind of insight you get from a guidebook that actually 'talks this way' could make all the difference in the world, turning you trip into a dream vacation… a lifetime experience.

5- Making Sure the Guidebook Answers Your Specific Needs

One big mistake a lot of Maui travelers do is not choosing the right guidebook for their specific needs.

The fact is we, as travelers, have very different tastes and objectives. Some of us are looking for the ultimate relaxation experience, some are traveling with kids, some are seeking romance, some are looking for adrenaline while others are on a mission to get the perfect picture. This list could go on forever.

Diversity is a great thing. This is what makes the world so exciting after all! But it also makes it very hard for any guidebook to deliver a product that is appealing to everybody.

In the end, each Maui guidebooks will prove more suited to a certain audience. What you need to do is to find the one that is made for you.

My suggestion is to begin with a solid general Maui guidebook like Maui Revealed and then add one more specialized travel guide to your luggage.
